On March 1, Tongyou Intelligent Equipment (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Tongyou Intelligent”) announced that it has recently completed an A‑round financing round totaling tens of millions of yuan, co‑led by Nanjing Innovation Investment Group and Anrui Capital.

Tongyou Intelligent was founded in 2017 and is located in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, a core hub for technological innovation within the Yangtze River Delta economic belt. The company is recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a private-sector small and medium-sized technology enterprise, a specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative enterprise, a Suzhou Unicorn Enterprise, and a municipal-level R&D institution in Kunshan. It holds numerous invention patents and software copyrights, and has been granted rapid preliminary review registration by the Suzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center. The company is dedicated to the research, development, and manufacturing of ultra‑miniature, high‑power, high‑performance PIM monolithic inductors—covering products, materials, processes, and equipment. It is among the first in China to initiate research on PIM monolithic inductors, establishing a closed-loop platform for micro‑inductor technology that integrates product and process development with industrial-scale equipment production and parallel material synthesis and product R&D.

As a serial entrepreneur, founder Zhou Sheng brings nearly 20 years of experience in the R&D and manufacturing of connectors, data cables, and electronic components. Following the establishment of Tongyou Intelligent, Zhou Sheng, together with postdoctoral researcher Gao Yanhua from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led the company’s core technical team to seize market opportunities, overcome critical technological bottlenecks, and advance toward domestic substitution.

According to publicly available data, the China Electronic Components Industry Association forecasts that, over the next few years, the global inductor market will grow at an annual average rate of approximately 7.5%. As one of the world’s largest consumers of inductive components, China is poised for rapid expansion in this market, driven by the swift advancement of its telecommunications technologies and the large-scale development of related industries such as the Internet of Things, data centers, and new energy. In particular, supported by major policies like the 14th Five-Year Plan and “Made in China 2025,” the inductor industry is expected to remain a thriving sector for the foreseeable future.

Against this broader backdrop, Tongyou Intelligent has seized a critical window of opportunity and, leveraging its accumulated experience and breakthroughs in key technologies, has successfully achieved industry‑leading process capabilities and technical performance. According to Zhou Sheng, the company currently holds a leading position in the domestic industry for the reliability and performance parameters of PIM micro‑integrated power inductors, with its processes and technologies 2–3 years ahead of domestic peers and on par with international cutting‑edge standards.

In terms of its product portfolio, Tongyou Intelligent primarily offers two major categories: inductor manufacturing equipment and PIM monolithic power inductors. Its inductor products are widely used in telecommunications, consumer electronics, computing, Internet‑of‑Things applications, the IoT, automotive electronics, industrial equipment, aerospace, and defense industries. PIM monolithic power inductors are high‑end passive electronic components; Tongyou Intelligent continuously introduces smaller‑size monolithic power inductors, including ultra‑compact models tailored to customers’ specific requirements, while providing comprehensive technical support and integrated solutions.

Zhou Sheng believes that, as mobile devices become increasingly feature‑rich, the market for PIM monolithic power inductors is experiencing significant growth. At present, China’s leading manufacturers of such inductors still rely primarily on hollow‑coil technology. In this vast market, seizing the opportunity to rapidly adopt new processes and equipment and ensure stable, large‑scale production is the most effective strategy for capturing a larger share of the inductor market.

Tongyou Intelligent’s PIM micro‑integrated molded power inductors are entirely developed and controlled through an integrated “materials–equipment–process–product” solution, breaking the foreign monopoly and fundamentally resolving the critical bottleneck in high‑precision power inductors. By forging strategic partnerships with industry leaders, ensuring a steady supply of equipment, driving continuous upgrades, and fostering collaborative R&D with end‑customers, its inductor products have earned recognition from numerous prominent manufacturers in the sector, positioning Tongyou’s PIM micro‑integrated molded power inductors at the forefront of the industry.

Zhang Surong and Hu Yong, Investment Directors at Nanjing Innovation Investment Group—the lead investor in this round—stated: “Integrated‑molded inductors offer excellent stability, along with the advantages of miniaturization, high energy storage, and low resistance, making them increasingly valuable across 5G communication equipment, consumer electronics, automotive electronics, and other sectors. Tongyou Intelligent provides an end‑to‑end solution encompassing production equipment, inductor materials, and manufacturing processes for PIM integrated‑molded inductors; its products have been validated by leading customers and deliver performance metrics that rank among the industry’s best. Nanjing Innovation Investment Group has long focused on hard‑tech investments spanning the entire lifecycle, and will actively leverage multi‑party resources to help Tongyou Intelligent achieve even faster growth.”

Mr. Wu, Executive Director at Anrui Capital, the lead investor in this round, stated: “Passive electronic components are often referred to as the cement and sand of modern industry, with enormous demand. Among them, mid- to high-end products are in short supply, seeing price increases year after year, while the market has long been dominated by Japanese and Taiwanese firms. The core technological barriers lie in material formulations, manufacturing equipment, and production processes. After several years of dedicated R&D, Tongyou Intelligent has achieved mass production of miniaturized integrated molded inductors; its 1608 and 1412 models, in particular, outperform international competitors in both performance and cost, enabling domestic substitution in the high‑end micro‑inductor segment. We remain firmly optimistic that, under the leadership of President Zhou, Tongyou Intelligent will continue to deliver outstanding results on its next phase of growth. This investment also represents a key component of our broader strategy to build an ecosystem of core hardware and equipment investments in the industrial sector.”

Tongyou Intelligent disclosed that, following more than four years of market validation, the company has established a distinctive R&D management system encompassing product positioning, technological development, equipment design and manufacturing, and quality assurance. It has set up an Enterprise Technology R&D Center, an Equipment Manufacturing Division, a Materials Analysis Laboratory, an Inductor Product Laboratory, and an Intellectual Property Protection Center, enabling it to develop products in step with market demands. Moving forward, Tongyou Intelligent will strengthen its R&D capabilities, continuously optimize and upgrade production equipment, refine process workflows, and consistently enhance material performance, thereby sustaining its core competitiveness and striving to become a leading player in the high‑end power inductor industry at an early date.
